RUFF RUFF DANGER DOGS

Ruff Ruff Danger Dogs - Created by Apartment D
Ruff Ruff Danger Dogs is a webseries, created by Apartment D Films. I got to work on episode 3, serving as the art director as well as a set-dresser. For this project, I fabricated all props, operated a laser-cutter, and oversaw the painting of finished assets. The art style of this show is very flat and shape based, drawing heavy influence from late 90s & early 2000s cartoons, which was a fun challenge to emulate in 3D!

Rotating Hallway

In Camera Hallway

The hallway build was an interesting challenge because it had to be built to rotate around the camera to give the illusion of walking through the hallway. Additionally, it had to be built in a way that allowed for walls to be swapped out

Early Hallway Dry Fit

To achieve the never-ending faceted hallway look, the hallway was constructed as a dodecagon so that it could rotate around the camera endlessly. Faceted walls were constructed out of MDF and divided by MDF pillars. The pillars were constructed so that interchangeable walls could be inserted and removed.

After painting, pillars and doors were fitted with milk plex and LEDs that emitted a soft glow!

Park Exterior & Exterior Reverse Angle

The exterior shots were fun because they all borrowed various assets, but each one has a few unique assets of its own. When preparing for these shots, I designed many tree, bush and grass cutters that could be used interchangeably for every exterior shot. Most assets were made out of the usual 1/8" or 1/4" MDF, however the branches were made out of styrene so that they could bend and sway.
